Eric Remembered

I have to report sad news that our friend Eric von Schmidt died peacefully in his sleep early this morning. He had struggled to regain health after suffering a stroke last August.  

Eric's daughter, Caitlin von Schmidt, has informed me they plan a memorial service in March or April.

Update February 25, 2009: Even after Eric's death two years ago, we continue to receive memorials from Eric's friends.

Friday August 18, 2006:

Eric von Schmidt’s daughter had to take Eric to the emergency room. After conducting tests, the doctors informed the family that Eric had suffered a stroke. The good news is that it has not caused paralysis, however Eric will have to undergo physical therapy, which will delay his returning home for some time.
